I have just returned from my trip north. The following three entries were written in Tianjin, Beijing, and Chengde, but could only be uploaded from my Shenzhen proxy. I will be away for the next three weeks. Happy summer.
this past month, i have been in a digitally induced lethargy. my external hard drive died, and i began the quest to find someone who could fix a mac formatted drive. this technical failure made me reluctant to go about taking pictures, despite the gorgeous weather. now, however, both my hard and photographic drives have been restored and will resume somewhat regular posting.
