This week in The Economist, an introduction to the PRD as China’s most dynamic, open, and innovative region. Good overview that introduces landmarks for navigating a landscape which has changed and continues to change China. And yes, Learning from Shenzhen gets a shout out!
You are a Dark Horse, Mary. Congratulations on the book, Just discovered it and ordered it. Very best regards. Austin
I am a junior student at Columbia University whose family has lived in Shenzhen since 2003. I am currently reading Learning From Shenzhen. I am fascinated by the book, especially the chapter on urban villages, but at the same time surprised by how little I know of the subject despite living next to them for 14 years. Out of scholarly curiosity as well as personal attachment to Shenzhen, I’ve come up with a few inquiries about Shenzhen’s development and urban villages. I am wondering if you would be interested in some discussion via email regarding the subject? Thank you!
